Vicky Steiner works in Association management for the N.D. Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties and the Coal Conversion Counties Association. She has lived in Dickinson since 1978 beginning her career at KDIX radio and TV. She and her husband, Calvin, also own a small business renting condominium stays to tourists in Big Sky, Montana.

She developed the Williston Basin Oilfield Fire Training facility in 2007 near Dickinson for western North Dakota volunteer firefighters.

Steiner is a member of Dickinson Rotary, a reader at St. Patrick’s church, President of Queen city Toastmasters club, member of a state pro-life organization, a book club, a member of the McKenzie Bay cabin association, a former board member of Able, Inc., a former school board member of St. Wenceslaus elementary school, a former St. Patrick’s church building expansion committee, and former Hill Condo Association president and treasurer. Steiner is an alternate board member of the Lignite Energy Research Council. She has attended several national Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission meetings on oil development best practices.

Steiner attended NDSU and she graduated in Mass Communications at Moorhead State University.

She and her husband have four grown children and one granddaughter.
